Christmas holidays are here and there are not many things better than spending your holidays with friends and your new ski gear on a ski/snowboard trip ;). A smart guide of how to prepare your ski trip will let you rock it on the slopes.
Skip the queues and save some money for the Après Ski
Purchasing a lift ticket in advance could save you up to 50% so searching for a good bargain is the best way to start your trip. Liftopia is a great website for purchasing your forfait in advance with a discount. It sells from one to three days’ tickets over a wide range of destinations for skiing in the US and the Alps. Along with the prices there is a full info of every ski station, so if you are not sure where to ski, here you find some good tips.
Find your friends on the slopes
At Wave Application we make sure you won’t miss your superb lunch with a view with your skiing buddies…or at least that getting there won’t be a chaos 😉 Start a group wave with up to 10 people and you will be able to see each others’ location in a private map in real time, chat and set a meeting point – to make sure you all meet in a certain restaurant at certain time. Everyone who loves skiing knows it can be a real mess getting the group back together and with that much fun, there is no time to lose.
Warm up your hands
All good but freaking cold, right? You stop taking pics and and stop feeling your hands also. Zippo Hand Warmer (sold in Amazon) is small, affordable and lasts for 8 hours. If you prefer disposable gadgets though, try out the Hands Warmer x30 from Decathlon. This one works with a chemical reaction to the fresh air, so as soon as you open the package outside, it starts heating up and you can keep it in the pocket or even inside or your gloves for 6 hours of soft heat.
Rock the mountains, literally
Wonder how it feels skiing with the song of Paradise on the background? Well, you wouldn´t be the first one who enjoys a bit of loneliness on the slopes listening to your favourite music. Helmet Poc for skiers and snowboarders, available on Amazon, uses bluetooth network to connect it with the smartphone, receive calls and notifications. Its speakers provides you a stereo pure sound and adjust the volume without taking out of the pocket your smartphone.
Tinker belt boots
We are impressed by the amazing Carv ski boots that records your daily path and reviews your performance with you afterwards. It is like wearing a personal tinker belt under your feet. Once you arrive to the ski resort you can connect it with the smartphone and analyze your movements, mistakes and teach you how to ski better. It is one of the successful projects on Kickstarter and you can pre order from it. A coach was never so close to you.
